Meet the Chocolate Maker
Hey! I’m Jeanette, the founder and chocolate maker at Planet Cocoa.
I transform raw cocoa beans over several days into chocolate products. Without good cocoa beans, there wouldn’t be good chocolate and I’m committed to sourcing cocoa from slave-free and ethical sources like Samoa, Ecuador & Solomon Islands.
Good chocolate should be savoured - piece by piece - appreciating the slow craft of chocolate making and the flavours each cocoa origin brings. I hope you enjoy and become curious about craft chocolate after trying Planet Cocoa’s chocolate.

We are an online chocolate shop based in West Melbourne. We handcraft bean to bar chocolate and other stoneground goods, all from scratch. Check them out here!
We only source cocoa beans from ethical and transparent sources. Ethical trade is paramount for our craft as without cocoa communities continuing their farming, fermenting and drying, there is no cocoa. And without cocoa, there is no chocolate!

Bean to bar chocolate is the process of making chocolate from scratch - starting from whole, raw cocoa beans and transforming them into chocolate over the span of several days.
This process involves roasting, crushing, winnowing and grinding cocoa beans and after 2-3 days it begins to look, smell and taste like the chocolate we know and love!

Our chocolate production kitchen is based in West Melbourne and you can find us at local Farmers Markets across Melbourne every weekend. Or find us at our small range of stockists.
We ship our chocolates Australia wide - perfect for gifting or a convenient pantry top up.

All of our range is made from scratch.
The chocolate range (oat milk, white and dark chocolate) is stone ground using ethical cocoa beans currently sourcing from Fiji, Samoa and Ecuador.
We also stone grind our own coconut praline paste used in our best-selling chocolate block.

Yes! in fact the whole range of our products are vegan friendly. No dairy products have ever touched our machinery and we make our milk chocolate with rolled oats and coconut!
