Making Chocolate from Scratch is Magic

We craft chocolate from scratch and think it’s magical.

Starting from funky-smelling raw cocoa beans and transforming them over several days into silky, gorgeous chocolate is incredible.

When I tell people that the chocolate is made from scratch, pointing at the cocoa beans on display, I see a spark of curiosity. These reactions give me hope for the future of craft chocolate, one that deserves appreciation. Like fine wine, specialty coffee, artisan made goods like butter, craft chocolate is special.

It can be disheartening to justify the cost of craft chocolate (like why a block is $8.50) when I know you can get a cheaper one from the supermarket, but craft chocolate is in a league of its own, and not a substitute for mass-produced chocolate.

I hope as a craft chocolate maker, I can help people truly fall in love with chocolate again with providing an insight into how chocolate is made, where it comes from and learning to savour this under-appreciated treat we’ve grown accustomed to thanks to mass-production.
